The Waukesha Christmas parade memorial has a new home at the Waukesha Historical Society.
There was a small closing ceremony Wednesday for the temporary memorial honoring the six people killed and others injured in the crash.
Mayor Shawn Reilly said, “the memorial has provided a place for the community to grieve and to come together to support those who lost loved ones and those who will be dealing with the physical and emotional trauma from the events of November 21 for many years to come.”
Officials say the memorial items are being saved and preserved in the historical society for posterity.
The Waukesha Common Council will form a committee next month for building a permanent memorial to the victims.
