The Manitowoc Lincoln boys may have lost to Sussex-Hamilton yesterday, but they pushed the high-quality team from the Greater Metro Conference to the limit.
Brian Norton had the call on 107.9 FM WOMT, and he reports that the Ships were within one point late in the contest, but Charger Sophomore Cooper Grames nailed four consecutive free throws to put the game out of reach, eventually securing a 59-54 win.
Ships Senior Matus Dopirack led all scorers with 15 points, Junior Brayden Kennedy chipped in 13, and classmate Brock Peterson added 11.
The Chargers were led by Junior Luther Smith Jr who had 14 points, while Senior Dylan Hilbicke had 11.
Sussex Hamilton improves to 5-3 on the year, while the ships fall to 3-4.
Up next for Lincoln is a road contest at Madison Memorial tomorrow.
