Milwaukee’s new acting mayor says he will meet with the city’s health department this week to talk about the surge of COVID-19 cases.
When reporters first asked Cavalier Johnson about his plans for dealing with the virus he said he didn’t want to give any specifics.
His comments came at a local food pantry Friday.
He told reporters he would meet with the health commissioner to discuss options early this week.
He says he’s not encouraging people to get vaccinated – he is imploring them to take the important step.
Johnson says anyone who has received both shots shouldn’t wait to get their booster.
He says that’s the best way to make sure everyone is safe.
