Eugene “Gene” J. Lemberger, age 87, a Two Rivers resident, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at his home.
He was born May 20, 1934, in Whitelaw, son of the late Joseph and Gladys (Reindl) Lemberger. On May 22, 1954, he married the former CarolAnn Ruether at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. She preceded him in death on March 14, 2014. Gene was employed as an owner/operator truck driver until his retirement in 1999. After retirement, the couple bought an RV and traveled North America together. In recent years, he worked part time at Rockwood Products and Maple Leaf Dairy. Gene enjoyed going out for breakfast and car rides, as well as working in his shop and spending time with family.
Survivors include one daughter: Sandra Rohr (Greg Wuensch); two sons: Randall Lemberger, Barry (Lynn) Lemberger; 19 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Emily Ruether, Jacqueline Lemberger; one brother-in-law: Harold Kimmel; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife: CarolAnn; parents; infant son: Scott Lemberger; daughter: Susan Meyer; granddaughter: Catrina Lemberger; grandson: Casey Meyer; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Walter and Anna Ruether; sister: Sally Kimmel; brother: Robert Lemberger; brother-in-law: Russell Ruether; son-in-law: Thomas Rohr and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Road, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. David Pleier with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum. The funeral service will be live streamed on the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church website or St. Peter the Fisherman Facebook page. The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday December 23, 2021, at the church from 9:30 am until 10:45am.
