After several threats to schools last week and the discovery of a gun in a student’s locker at Green Bay East High School, all schools in Green Bay are now going virtual.
According to the Green Bay Police Department, staff at East High School were informed of a student who may be in possession of a firearm.
The school resource officer took a look through the student’s locker and located the gun, which resulted in two students being charged with bringing a firearm into a school.
The Green Bay Area Public School District explained that this latest incident, combined with several threats made to Preble High School, the recent TikTok video, and dwindling attendance has led them to turn to a virtual model through the end of the week.
The District said that they will be addressing their security measures, and may be adding new ones when the students return from winter break.
