A Manitowoc man is facing a litany of charges after he was arrested in connection to two separate thefts from vehicles over the weekend.
Officers were first notified of the 33-year-old man’s misdeeds at around 10:30 PM on Saturday (December 19th) when officers were approached by two individuals who wished to report a theft from a vehicle.
The men told the police that someone had stolen Christmas presents from their vehicle, and other officers said they noticed a man known to them through previous incidents in the area at that time.
Officers were able to locate the suspect at around 1:30 Sunday morning, but the man fled from Police.
He was quickly apprehended, and the items were located in his vehicle, along with items stolen from another individual.
The suspect is facing charges including Resisting an Officer, Obstructing an Officer, Possession of Burglary Tools, two counts of Theft from a Vehicle, and three counts of Bail Jumping, one felony, and two misdemeanors.
One of the officers in the case noted in his report that the suspect “has continued to victimize numerous citizens in the City of Manitowoc, violating his bail conditions with little regard for the authority of the Court. Therefore, I am requesting a significant cash bail in this case.”
