Prevent Suicide Manitowoc County is looking to train 5,000 adults in Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) by the year 2025.
QPR is like CPR for the brain.
It helps people respond to a mental health crisis, and potentially save the life of someone contemplating suicide.
The QPR courses will be put on in partnership with Manitowoc County, and Healthiest Manitowoc County, with one session scheduled on the first Tuesday of the first five months of 2022.
The one-hour training sessions will be held via Zoom, starting at noon. You can register for the classes by going to PreventSuicideManitowoc.com/QPR-Training, or by calling Cath Tease at 920-683-5061.
With your help, we can help continue the lowering of the suicide rate in the County.
In 2019, 20 people took their own lives in Manitowoc County, and that number dropped to nine in 2020.
