
Students, faculty, and community members are urging the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse to do more on creating a better climate change plan.
The group gathered on an unseasonably warm day Monday.
Environmental Studies Professor Alysa Remsburg says the school has a green fund that has inspired other campuses – and that aims it in the right direction.
Remsburg says naming a sustainability coordinator is the next step.
Students say they have been told there isn’t room in the budget to create that position.
They say they are frustrated that the La Crosse campus is the only one in the U-W System that doesn’t have a sustainability coordinator.
