The Wisconsin Supreme Court has ruled against the former fiance’ of the founder of the Menards home improvement store chain. The court decided John Menard doesn’t owe her an ownership share. Debra Sands filed the lawsuit almost 10 years ago, alleging Menard promised her the ownership share in return for her work for his company and other business ventures. Their relationship lasted for nine years. The court says she failed to show her work increased the Wisconsin-based company’s assets. The court ruling was handed down Friday.
