The Milwaukee County court commissioner who set the bail for the Waukesha Christmas Parade suspect has been reassigned.
Darrell Brooks was free on a $1,000 bail when he drove through the parade, killing six people and injuring more than 60 others.
Court Commissioner Cedric Cornwall had recommended the bail for Brooks.
District Attorney John Chisolm has said it was too low.
Cornwall was filling in for another commissioner who was on vacation and officials say he was dealing with a heavy load of cases.
Cornwall will be assigned to small claims or children’s matters in the future.
There have been no comments about possible discipline.
One official says the bail for Brooks should have been set at five-to-10 thousand dollars.
