A surprising, 29-27 Vikings loss to Detroit Sunday has set up a situation where the Packers can clinch the N-F-C North title this week.
If the Vikings lose Thursday when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay would become division champions with a home win over the Bears.
The Packers clinched the N-F-C North title last year on December 13th, and this Sunday is December 12th.
Even if the situation doesn’t play out that way, Green Bay has an almost insurmountable lead in the standings.
Coach Matt LaFleur’s team has a magic number of two – meaning a combination of Packers wins and Vikings losses adding up to two will mean a third straight division title.
