A petition for early release from former Eau Claire County Treasurer Larry Lokken has been denied.
The 74-year-old Lokken is serving a sentence of more than nine years after being found guilty of stealing $625,000 from county taxpayers.
Lokken filed the petition in May.
Eau Claire County Judge Jon Theisen dismissed the motion for a sentence modification last month.
Theisen added that Lokken hasn’t apparently accepted responsibility for his crime and doesn’t appear to be contrite, changed, or rehabilitated.
