Milwaukee County Court officials say a failure of the audio recording equipment means a record wasn’t created at the hearing where bail was set for Darrell Brooks last month.
Brooks is accused of killing six people and injuring more than 60 when he drove through the crowd at the Waukesha Christmas Parade.
During that November 5th hearing his bail was set at $1,000, even though he was facing two felony and three misdemeanor charges.
Critics say the Milwaukee man should never have been released.
Milwaukee County Supervisor Shawn Rolland has called a hearing for today (December 2nd) when some pointed questions are expected to be asked.
Among those on the hot seat over the low bail amount will be District Attorney John Chisholm.
