The Brewers have traded outfielder Jackie Bradley Junior back to the Boston Red Sox as part of a three-for-one deal that brings outfielder Hunter Renfroe to Milwaukee.
The transaction was executed just before the end of the Collective Bargaining Agreement froze all Major League Baseball activity.
Along with J-B-J, the Brewers sent minor league prospects Alex Binelas and David Hamilton to the American League team.
Renfroe hit 31 home runs during a bounce-back 2021 campaign.
He is expected to earn almost $8 million through the arbitration process.
Renfroe will be expected to replace Avisail Garcia’s big bat in the Brewers lineup.
