Cold weather complicated the fight against a three-alarm fire on Milwaukee’s north side Thursday. While firefighters were battling the flames at one home, the people living next door had to run outside when the fire spread. The water firefighters were using kept turning to ice, slowing the process down. A frozen fire hydrant was inoperable. The flames were finally knocked down and there were no injuries reported. The structures were heavily-damaged.
