Badgers football fell one win short of the Big Ten Championship game by dropping a 23-13 decision at Minnesota Saturday.
The Golden Gophers claimed Paul Bunyan’s Axe for the second time in the last four years.
The loss knocked Wisconsin out of the Top 25 football poll.
Gophers defenders were just too tough.
Freshman Braelon Allen was held to 47 yards or 17 carries and quarterback Graham Mertz was inaccurate and threw an interception.
The Badgers’ only score came on a pick-six by defensive back Scott Nelson early in the second quarter.
Wisconsin will find out which bowl it will be invited to on December 5th.
