The weather is getting colder. Diwali kicked off the season of lights, Thanksgiving is just about to arrive and with it, the anticipation of the winter holiday season. We’ve even seen a few snowflakes in the air! It’s time to celebrate those dropping temperatures and the wonder of a Wisconsin winter with Manitowoc Public Library’s own Winter Festival!
People of all ages are welcome to join us on Sunday, December 5, starting at Noon Sharp, for an afternoon of winter-themed fun. We will have an assortment of make and take “All-Iday” crafts in the Youth Department that will be perfect for little and big hands alike. No matter what holiday you celebrate with your loved ones, we will have a host of crafts to celebrate the season!
In addition to our crafts, families can also participate in a game of pov pob. Pov pob is a ball tossing game that takes place during the Hmong New Year celebration. Participants form two parallel lines facing one another. The ball is tossed back and forth until someone drops the ball. Families are welcome to play in celebration of the month long (and sometimes, months-long) celebration of Hmong New Year!
