The Annual Lakeshore Holiday Parade in Manitowoc will be going on as planned today.
After taking a year off last year due to COIVD, the 33rd Annual parade will begin in downtown Manitowoc at 6:30 PM.
On top of being broadcast on 107.9 FM WOMT, there will also be a sensory sensitive zone without any lights, loud music of sirens between South 12th and South 10th Streets.
The parade route begins at the intersection of 12th and Washington Streets and ends at North 8th and Park Streets.
Meanwhile, the Two Rivers Hometown Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday.
City Manager Greg Buckley told us that the parade will begin at 5:30 PM, and will run from just north of 22nd Street down to 156th Street, in front of the Community House.
The event is organized each year by Two Rivers Main Street.
Buckley also said that following the tragic events in Waukesha, safety concerns are being addressed.
“Our Police, Fire, and Public Works Departments got together…to look at their pre-plan for the event,” Buckley explained. “There will be some additional precautions taken as far as restricting vehicular traffic into the area of the parade route.”
The 29th Annual Jaycees Holiday Parade in Sheboygan will also go on as planned on Sunday, but the Police Department has stated they are looking over their safety plan.
That parade begins at 5:45 PM and will be aired on Lake 98.1 FM.
