Sophomore guard Johnny Davis did the heavy lifting by scoring nearly half of his team’s points in a 65-63 win over Houston Tuesday afternoon.
Davis had 30 points, four rebounds and one assist as Wisconsin improved its record to 4-1.
Coach Greg Gard didn’t get much from his bench – just six points.
The Badgers led 40-20 at halftime, but saw much of that lead melt away.
The victory puts the Badgers in the championship game of the Maui Invitational.
The Badgers will take on St. Mary’s this afternoon (November 24th) at 4:00 PM in a game you can hear on 107.9 FM WOMT.
The undefeated Gaels beat Oregon 62-50 Tuesday.
