The Milwaukee County sheriff worried about the possible effects of last week’s not guilty verdict for Kyle Rittenhouse.
Sheriff Earnell Lucas says he’s worried about it leading to people acting as vigilantes.
Lucas hopes everyone accepts the jury’s decision and just moves forward.
He says the message shouldn’t be that young armed people can come into a community and kill and injury others – with no consequences.
Lucas says his department will always make sure people can exercise their First Amendment rights to peacefully protest.
