The newest addition to the State Farm Insurance team in Eastern Wisconsin is officially opening her doors today.
Tanya Finch will be taking over the State Farm Agency located at 305 North Calumet Drive in Valders, which will become official during a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:30 this afternoon.
Finch told us that the build-up to this day started two years ago when she was contacted by a State Farm recruiter.
She worked with the company to fill the shoes of a different agent who was retiring but withdrew her name for personal reasons.
“Fast forward, in 2020, they were looking for an agent here in the Valders office,” Finch said. “I reached out…and asked if I could be considered as a candidate for the Valders agency because I was raised here. This is my hometown.”
Finch told us that her connection to Valders, and the surrounding communities was a major reason she wanted this position.
She explained that “In this business, it’s all about caring about people and helping people…protect everything that they have, and worked hard for, and protect the ones that they love. It just made sense to me.”
Finch is aware of the fear some people may have when navigating the sometimes confusing world of insurance, which is why she will put a lot of focus on teaching her clients, as opposed to just telling them.
“I want to make sure they understand the coverages and protections they have in place,” she said. “I don’t want there to be any questions about that.”
As for her excitement about finally opening those doors, Finch said, “I can’t even put it into words. I’m thrilled to be here in the agency. I have an amazing team here with me, and we are ready to help anyone and everyone that we can to ensure that they can protect where they live, what they drive, what they own, and who they love.”
