A group of parents is suing the Kettle Moraine School District over its policy on student names and gender pronouns.
The parents of a 12-year-old girl say they took their daughter out of the school district in an effort to protect her mental health and preserve their parent role.
They say a male name and male pronouns were used to address the girl in class without their consent.
The district is accused of letting minor students change their names and gender pronouns without getting their parents’ consent.
The lawsuit was filed in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday by two sets of parents who say the district violated their constitutional rights as parents.
