Senator Andre Jacque is back to work following an extended battle with COVID-19. During an appearance on WOMT’s Jim and Rick Show, Jacque said he has a little way to go physically, but he is feeling much better.
“I really can’t say enough about all the support that I have received,” he said. “The wonderful outpouring of prayers, and well wishes. My family is doing well now. It’s great to be home, and continuing the work I have been able to do in the Capitol.”
Jacque also had high praise for the medial team in charge of his care. “It’s not just the doctors, the nurses,” he said. “It’s the respiratory therapist, the physical therapist, occupational therapist, the CNAs, the facility staff, they have a dedication…to healing the person.”
Jacque also said while he is not anti-vaccine in general or with the COVID vaccine, it’s ultimately up to the individual. “I know people that have had adverse reactions,” Jacque explained. “For the most part, I do think they are safe, but…it’s a very personal decision.” He also stated for the record that he is not supportive of any vaccine mandates implemented at any level.
He suggests that people do their own research, and figure out what is best for their bodies, which is very similar to what Aaron Rodgers said following his diagnosis.
