Rebounds were the Achilles heel for the UW Green Bay men’s basketball team last night, as they fell to Indiana State 81-77.
The Phoenix were efficient from the free-throw line, making nearly 89% of their shots from the charity stripe, along with 33% from downtown, and even won the turnover battle 16-9 but they were outrebounded by the Sycamores 37-28.
Emmanuel Ansong led the way for UWGB, scoring 19 points, followed by Donovan Ivory’s 16, Kamari McGee’s 14, and Lucas Stieber’s 11.
Up next for the Phoenix is a road game against the Wisconsin Badgers, who are coming off of an 81-58 thrashing of the St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers.
That game will be played at the Kohl Center on Friday with a 7:00 PM tip-off.
