The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL), representing more than 14,000 nursing homes and long term care facilities across the country that provide care to approximately five million people each year, released a statement after participating in a virtual roundtable with CEOs from major American companies to discuss Operation Allies Welcome, an effort by the White House to support Afghan refugees as they resettle in the United States. Clif Porter, senior vice president of government relations at AHCA/NCAL said in a news release, “We are proud to partner with groups like Welcome.US, the International Rescue Committee, and Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services that help refugees and immigrants discover these rewarding careers in long term care.”
