Acting Milwaukee Police Chief Jeffrey Norman has begun a weeklong public forum tour.
Norman took questions from about 20 residents Saturday morning at the Silver Spring Neighborhood Center, the first of three such public Q-and-A sessions.
Norman said his crime strategy is community engagement, and he acknowledged there’s a lack of trust in police in some communities.
Norman was invited by the Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission to be the only applicant for the permanent job as chief after becoming acting chief in December 2020.
The commission is expected to make a final decision next month
