The Dane County Sheriff’s Department ended a search for a man who stabbed a deputy last week near Cross Plains.
Investigators determined the suspect no longer posed an imminent danger to the public.
The Wisconsin State Journal reports the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation is still investigating the incident.
The deputy was stabbed Thursday as she investigated a suspicious person in the town of Berry.
The deputy shot at the man who ran from the scene.
Investigators did not reveal if the man was hit by the gunfire or how many times the deputy fired
