Governor Tony Evers is telling Republican lawmakers to go back to the drawing board on their redistricting maps.
G-O-P leaders released maps of new legislative and congressional seats on Wednesday, and have said they’ll vote on those next month.
Evers said in a statement, “it’s unconscionable and insulting to the people of this state, frankly, that Republicans think they can pass another set of gerrymandered maps modeled after the same gerrymandered ones we’ve had for a decade.”
Evers wants a nonpartisan redistricting commission to draw Wisconsin’s maps.
