Rating services like KenPom don’t see the Marquette Golden Eagles as an N-C-A-A Tournament contender.
Approaching the first season under new head coach Shaka Smart, KenPom ranks the Eagles number 87 in the country.
They are wedged in between basketball powerhouses like South Carolina and Louisiana Tech.
Marquette is projected to finish next-to-last in the Big East Conference and finish with a 10-19 record, including 6-14 in conference play.
The algorithms used project Smart’s team with the 106th offense in the country and 67th-best defense.
