A Brown County woman will be spending some time in jail after she attempted to get her father to kill himself.
56-year-old Teal Peters was sentenced to four months in jail after being found guilty due to a no-contest plea on charges of Recklessly Subjecting an Individual to Risk of Abuse and Resisting or Obstructing an Officer.
Police were sent to the victim’s home in Howard in 2019 after it was reported that he was suicidal.
The man told police that his family members, namely Teal and Troy Peters and Teal’s son Justin Juranitch, were trying to get him to kill himself for both financial gains, and so he would no longer be a burden on the family.
He described a situation where the three family members were very forward about it.
He said that Teal hung tarps and handed him a “homemade-looking gun” while the others stood by and told him to kill himself.
The 31-year-old Juranitch is due in court on November 8th, and Troy Peters has a jury trial in March.
