About two months after they first arrived at Fort McCoy, seven Afghan refugees are now living in Brown County.
Their resettlement in the area is being handled by the Catholic Charities of Green Bay, who say they are offering to settle up to 49 of the refugees.
The group is setting seven individuals up with job-seeking services, housing, and other necessities to live.
There are a total of 13,000 refugees that have come into Fort McCoy, with an estimated 399 of the slotted to reside in various areas across Wisconsin following their successful background and medical checks.
More of those individuals are slotted to come to the Brown County area in the coming weeks as well.
