A Manitowoc man is facing charges after he allegedly attempted to run over a man in his car before swinging a metal flashlight at him.
Officers responded to a home in the 1800 block of Clermont Street just after 1:40 AM on Sunday to investigate the claim.
They immediately located the suspect and took him into custody before speaking with the victim.
The man told police that the suspect was angry with him over comments he made to the suspect’s girlfriend and warned the suspect that he was coming to his house.
The victim went outside to see if the suspect really was coming.
The suspect then turned a corner, and slammed on the gas, nearly hitting the victim.
He then began swinging a metal flashlight at the victim, striking him in the process.
A witness corroborated the story, and K9 Neko was called to the scene to search the man’s vehicle.
He was found to be in possession of Meth, some drug paraphernalia, and several knives.
The 45-year-old man was arrested on charges of First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Obstructing an Officer, Damage to Property, Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia, two counts of Disorderly Conduct, and five counts of Felony Bail Jumping.
