Badgers sophomore forward Casey O’Brien put a quick end to overtime at Duluth Sunday afternoon.
Her goal gave Wisconsin a 5-4 victory over the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs in a W-C-H-A game.
The Badgers stay undefeated at 8-0.
The home team actually jumped up by a pair of goals in the first period and things were just tougher than the opposition seen so far.
Sarah Wozniewicz scored twice to tie things in the second period, then Nicole LaMantia put U-W ahead.
Maddi Wheeler scored in the third period. Wozniewicz leads all college freshman scorers with six goals this season.
It doesn’t get any easier for the top-ranked Badgers.
They host Ohio State in a weekend series at LaBahn Arena Saturday and Sunday.
