Members of a Wisconsin Senate committee will vote today (Wednesday) on the creation of a commission to lead the state’s portion of the country’s 250th-anniversary celebration.
The committee would plan and coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies.
The nation’s semi-quincentennial is set to be celebrated in 2026.
Language in a bill being considered would require Wisconsin public schools to schedule an event or educational opportunities during the 2025-2026 school year.
