The Packers special teams coach thought a blocking problem on kicks had been fixed – but it hadn’t.
When veteran Mason Crosby booted the game-winner Sunday from 49 yards out it ended a contest in Cincinnati where he had missed four times.
Crosby came into the game perfect on the season.
Packer opponents have been overloading the right side of the line creating a blocking mismatch for Robert Tonyan or Tyler Lancaster.
One kick has been blocked, but the heavy pressure led Crosby to over-correct and miss to the left.
Three straight teams – the 49ers, the Steelers and the Bengals – have used the strategy.
The Packers are working to correct the situation … again.
