Strap on those ice skates — and kneepads might not be a bad idea. The city of Wausau is opening its three outdoor ice skating rinks at 5:00 p-m today (Friday). City crews were completing final preparations yesterday. The skating is free at the rinks located at 400 Block downtown, Thom Field and Marathon Park. The public can show their skill from 5:00-to-8:00 p-m Monday-through-Friday and 10:00 a-m-to-8:00 p-m weekends. The rinks will close when the wind chill factor reaches 20-below.
