Beloit police haven’t specified the number of students who were detained during a disturbance Tuesday morning at Memorial High School.
One police officer had to seek medical treatment at a hospital.
Officers were called to the scene about a confrontation near the school’s cafeteria.
That was quickly followed by a fight in the halls.
Authorities say the incident is still being investigated and no arrests have been announced.
The school was put in a soft lockdown while the scene was brought under control.
The officer was the only injury reported and it isn’t known how bad it was.
