For the second time in five days the Milwaukee Brewers have announced the signing of a free-agent pitcher. Right-hander Jhoulys Chacin has reached a two-year, nearly 16-million dollar agreement with the team. The 30-year-old Chacin is coming off a strong season with the San Diego Padres. He was 13-10 with a 3-point-89 earned run average last season. Chacin throws in the low-90s and holds a lot of hitters to weak contact, according to the numbers. Pitcher Yovani Gallardo should be officially announced as a returning Brewer Thursday — if he passed the physical he was given yesterday (Wednesday).
