
A teacher at Green Bay West High School has now been formally charged for a sexual assault that occurred in 1997.
The criminal complaint states that the assaults occurred in a home in the 2000 block of South Gladys Avenue in Appleton and that the victim was only 13 at the time.
The victim told police that 52-year-old Gregory Sawyer was dating his mother and that Sawyer had assaulted him multiple times, including once where his mother was watching.
Sawyer was in court on Tuesday (September 21st) where his bond was set at $2,500 cash, which was posted.
Sawyer is next due in court on October 13th for his preliminary hearing.
If convicted, Sawyer could spend as many as 20 years in prison, and pay as much as a $10,000 fine.
