There is a new man in charge of the Green Bay Police Department.
A swearing-in ceremony was held yesterday (September 17th) for Chris Davis, who is now officially the Police Chief in Green Bay.
Davis served as Deputy Chief in Portland Oregon prior to coming to Green Bay, and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, and the Major Cities Chiefs Association’s Police Executive Leadership Institute.
In his speech, Davis thanked the community, saying it is “an honor to be here”. He also said that his department will listen to the community and innovate to serve the City the best way they can.
Some people were a bit skeptical of bringing in one of the leaders of the Portland Police Department, citing problems within the department, however, Police and Fire Commission President Rod Goldhahn addressed the situation, saying “We didn’t hire Portland. We hired Chris Davis.”
