Neither team had scored before Detroit outfielder Derek Hill doubled in the bottom of the 11th inning Tuesday night.
That knocked in the winning – and only – run in the Tigers 1-0 shutout of the Brewers while also stopping Milwaukee’s winning streak at five games in a row.
Before Hill touched reliever Hunter Strickland for the walk-off victory there had been plenty of good pitching.
Freddy Peralta started for Milwaukee and surrendered just two hits in six innings, striking out nine.
Josh Hader did walk the bases full in the bottom of the ninth but escaped without giving up a run.
The Brewers and Tigers wrap up the short, two-game series this afternoon (September 15th) with a game starting at 12:10 p-m. Brandon Woodruff starts for Milwaukee in the game you can listen to on 107.9 FM WOMT.
