A small Oneida County town is about to lose both of its banks – unless a deal can be worked out.
Officials in Three Lakes have been told BMO Harris and Nicolet National Bank plan to close their locations in the next few months. Anybody living there will have to drive to Eagle River or Rhinelander to conduct banking business. Members of the town board are hoping they can recruit a new bank to fill the void – or, convince the two banks already there to stay.
BMO Harris says it will close its branch in early October while the Nicolet Bank will shut its doors in December.
