It’s no secret that law enforcement agencies across the country are struggling to find people to fill their ranks, and the Manitowoc area is no different.
With several high-profile police confrontations occupying a lot of the news cycle last year, many agencies have struggled to shift the public’s perception of them, causing many to have a shortage of officers, deputies, or troopers.
A Manitowoc teen hasn’t let that dissuade him, as he has received a $500 scholarship from the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department.
Odin Funkhouser recently graduated from his home school studies, and now plans on pursuing a Criminal Justice Degree at Lakeshore Technical College.
