The Grow It Forward Community Food Center Pantry and Community Meals will be closed for at least a week after they were notified Tuesday night that a member of their staff had tested positive for COVID 19.
CEO and Founder Amber Daugs tells Seehafer News that out of an abundance of caution they will be closed through September 13th and they will not accept Food Pantry appointments today and tomorrow (September 9th and 10th) and their Community Meal on September 13th will not be held.
Daugs adds they are awaiting test results due to exposure at work from other employees who were in close contact.
Plans are to reopen for pantry appointments Thursday, September 16th however, they want to make sure all staff can be tested and cleared-to have all possible exposures identified and give a few days for the incubation period.
Grow it Forward apologizes for any inconvenience but they believe this is the best option for keeping everyone safe.
Other resources include the Salvation Army of Manitowoc County, Peter’s Pantry, The Two Rivers Ecumenical Pantry, and The First Presbyterian Community Meal offered Wednesday’s at 5 p.m. at the church located at 502 North Eighth Street in Manitowoc.
