The citizens of Chilton will have some new garbagemen collecting their trash and recyclables after the city decided to end its contract with Waste Management.
The city was under a 10-year contract with the organization after they took over for Advanced Disposal, however, City officials say Waste Management was not providing consistent pickups, resulting in numerous complaints being filed by citizens.
Chilton was able to get out of their contract with Waste Management, and now, the service is being provided by GFL Environmental.
While the change over of services may not be without a minor learning curve and a few bumps, officials say they believe GFL will do a better job in serving their community.
