You’d think if you go three-and-oh over a successful weekend of volleyball competition you would earn some respect, but it didn’t work out that way for Marquette.
The Golden Eagles were ranked 25th in last week’s American Volleyball Coaches Association poll. This week they’re out.
Creighton’s surprising sweep of the defending national champion Kentucky Wildcats moved the Bluejays up to number 19. Tennessee also jumped into the top 25.
Kentucky will be the next opponent for Marquette and they’re still near the top of the poll at number eight.
After Kentucky Saturday, the Eagles will have to take on number-two Wisconsin Sunday.
