Clemson transfer Chez Mellusi has made a strong claim to the number-one running position in the Wisconsin Badgers’ depth chart.
Mellusi’s 121-yard rushing performance Saturday was one of the best contributions by any Badger player in the 16-10 loss to Penn State.
He scored Wisconsin’s only touchdown and kept promising sophomore Jalen Berger on the sidelines.
He was productive behind an offensive line that spent the whole game looking for some continuity and consistent production.
Berger was suited up for the Big Ten opener but got no snaps while Mellusi was doing the heavy lifting.
