A Sun Prairie School District staff member is in the center of a controversy for using a racial slur while telling students not to use it themselves.
The incident happened Thursday at an elementary school on the playground during recess. The district investigation determined that the staff member repeated the racial slur while talking with the students after hearing them use the word.
No names have been released and the district hasn’t said whether the staff member has been disciplined in any way.
