Driver Leads Authorities On 12-Minute Chase, Rams Squad Car

The Dane county Sheriff’s Office says a 22-year-old driver who led officers on a high-speed chase lasting 12 minutes is facing a long list of charges. Police say Anthony Smith of Endeavor was finally taken into custody after stop sticks were set up on Interstate 39-90 and his attempt to run away on foot was foiled.  The chase started at about 9:40 P-M Saturday.  When Smith’s truck went out of control, it hit a sign, then he is accused of turning the truck around and ramming a Dane County squad car.  The deputy suffered minor injuries.  Smith is being held in the Dane County Jail on four felony charges.
