The Milwaukee Police Department now has an Overdose Task Force. Chief Edward Flynn announced the creation of the panel along with Mayor Tom Barrett and Alderman Michael Murphy Thursday. Flynn says the mission of the task force will be to reduce heroin and opioid trafficking using targeted enforcement, intelligence sharing and analysis planning. The task force will have 16 members whose full-time job is to identify suppliers in overdose deaths.
